Light and mirror trickery

Light creates the visual illusion of extra space so if you have a large window in your small bedroom make sure you are emphasising it, and not covering it up in any way. Use Venetian, Roman or roller blinds as they help let the light in and ensure you don’t use dark curtains that block out all of the light. Choose relaxing and light colours to compliment to the natural light that gleams through your window – people like to choose white but this can look quite stand-offish in a smaller room, opt for for paler neutral colours like beige or cream and brighten the room up with bold accessories if you like colour. Another tip to create the illusion of space in your room is to use mirrored doors, on your wardrobe for example, mirrored doors can completely open up a room and can make it look twice the size.
