There is a lot of excitement with the start of the new college school year, along with the autumn season now upon us. You may have found yourself moving into a new apartment for the first time. For many of us this is a very exciting, yet intimidating time in our life because we are moving away from home. If you are lucky, you may have been able to find an apartment that was already furnished. If not, then you will want to think about how you are going to decorate your new apartment. This can be very exciting, yet frustrating, because you may not know exactly where to start off decorating.

You will likely want to focus on a main area in your apartment first. You want to find out from your landlord or lease company if you will be able to change the paint colour of the walls in the apartment. You will also want to find out what they allow as for as hanging up picture frames and other additions to the walls and flooring. Many landlords and apartment complex companies will not allow you to replace the carpeting inside your apartment, if there is any, so if you do not like the colour of your carpeting don’t become discouraged. You will be able to place nice modern rugs on top of the already existing flooring or carpeting. This will allow you to change the colour scheme in the apartment and also allow you to change the way the carpeting itself looks. By choosing large rugs for the bigger rooms in the apartment and small cheap rugs for the other rooms and hallways, you will be able to change the flooring in your entire apartment without having to spend a lot of money in the process.

Choosing modern rugs that have a specific colour or design in them will allow you to decorate the rest of your apartment based off of those designs. You will be able to choose your new furniture as well as other small decorative items in your apartment based off of the colours in the modern rugs.
